I was born under a wandering star and have hopped between Africa and England all my days. Although raised in the UK, my childhood memories are of fun-filled family holidays to Southern Africa – thanks to a South African mother and an adventurous English father.
A year in a remote school in Tanzania, cutting my teeth in an African camp in a rugged Zimbabwean National Park and running luxury mobile safaris in Botswana opened my eyes to the wilderness areas of Africa. Since then, every spare moment has been spent exploring the continent.
I joined the Africa team of a well known London based tour operator in 2001. In 2009 it was acquired by an award-winning travel company, where I successfully headed up their Africa division. In 2013, I left on a solo journey and am now based in Franschhoek, South Africa, the heart of the winelands.
Sarah James Travel was launched in 2013 and is a culmination of these fantastic experiences. My goal is to deliver truly memorable holidays to Africa for couples, families, honeymooners, solo travellers and groups of friends.
I am passionate about Africa, its characters, its landscapes, cultures and wildlife and dedicated to create the best experiences for my clients.
